Near Me may also make it easier for you to have a member of your family or carer with you, who may not have been able to travel to your appointment.

To use Near Me you will need a reliable internet connection; broadband or 3G/4G, and a suitable device for making video calls such as a smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer with webcam and speaker.

Accessing your video consultation

• Please do not enter a waiting area unless you have a pre-arranged appointment or have been invited to a same day appointment by your healthcare professional.
• When using a smart phone, tablet or laptop please ensure the device has been charged and has sufficient battery power for the length of your consultation.
• Please ensure that you are in a private well lit location prior to the start of your consultation.
• Please inform your clinician if anyone is with you.
• Please use a WiFi connection to make your call whenever possible If you are using mobile data, please be aware that a 20 minute consultation will use approximately 230MB of data.
• Patients should note that Near Me calls are not recorded. If you wish to record your call for your own records, you must discuss and seek the agreement and consent of your clinician, in advance of your consultation commencing.
